Stereoelectroencephalography (stereo-EEG) parameters may be predictors of surgical treatment outcomes in patients with focal drug-resistant epilepsy (fDRE).</p></sec><sec><title>Objective</title><p>Objective: To assess a relationship between stereo-EEG parameters and surgical treatment for fDRE outcome.</p></sec><sec><title>Material and methods</title><p>Material and methods. The stereo-EEG parameters were retrospectively evaluated in fDRE patients examined in 2016–2020. We reviewed the following parameters: patient’s gender, age at stereo-EEG examination, lesion presence and lateralization on magnetic resonance images, seizure onset zone localization and size, seizure pattern type, latency and propagation. These parameter-related effect on surgical treatment outcomes in fDRE patients were analyzed.</p></sec><sec><title>Results</title><p>Results. The outcome of surgical treatment was found to depend on the size of epileptic seizure onset zone (p=0.002). No other analyzed parameters appeared to have an impact on epilepsy surgery outcome.</p></sec><sec><title>Conclusion</title><p>Conclusion. Size of seizure onset zone represent a sole stereo-EEG parameter affecting fDRE surgical treatment outcome.</p></sec></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="ru"><sec><title>Актуальность</title><p>Актуальность. Параметры стереоэлектроэнцефалографии (стерео-ЭЭГ) могут быть предикторами исхода хирургического лечения у пациентов с фокальной фармакорезистентной эпилепсией (ФФРЭ).</p></sec><sec><title>Цель</title><p>Цель: оценка взаимосвязи параметров стерео-ЭЭГ с исходом хирургического лечения ФФРЭ.</p></sec><sec><title>Материал и методы</title><p>Материал и методы. Ретроспективно oценены параметры стерео-ЭЭГ у пациентов, прошедших данное обследование за период 2016–2020 гг. В анализ включены следующие параметры: пол, возраст пациента на момент проведения стерео-ЭЭГ, наличие и латерализация структурной патологии на магнитно-резонансных томограммах, расположение и протяженность зоны инициации приступа, тип иктального паттерна, его латентность и пропагация. Проанализировано влияние данных факторов на исход хирургического лечения у пациентов с ФФРЭ.</p></sec><sec><title>Результаты</title><p>Результаты. Выявлена зависимость исхода хирургического лечения от размера зоны инициации эпилептического приступа (р=0,002). Остальные факторы, включенные в анализ, не продемонстрировали влияния на исход хирургического лечения ФФРЭ.</p></sec><sec><title>Заключение</title><p>Заключение.
