THE INTERNATIONAL CONTEST OF SCHOLARLY ARTICLES
In honor of the 15th anniversary of the “Epilepsy and Paroxysmal Conditions” journal the Editorial Board invites you to take part in the International Contest of Scholarly Articles, which will be held from 01.05.2024 to 31.03.2025.
The contest is organized and conducted by IRBIS Publishing House.
CONTEST TERMS AND CONDITIONS
► The following types of manuscripts are accepted for participation in the contest in the nominations of the same names:
- оriginal articles;
- review articles.
► Original articles should be structured according to the following scheme: "Introduction", "Purpose", "Material and Methods", "Results", "Discussion", "Conclusion", "References".
► Review articles should be structured according to PRISMA guidelines.
► All manuscripts must comply with the Rules for Authors1 and the journal policies2.
► When submitting a manuscript, it is necessary to indicate the authors' desire to participate in this contest (if the authors do not express such willingness when submitting the manuscript, it will be accepted in the work in the regular order outside of this competition).
► Only an individual can participate in the contest.
► Participation in the contest is free of charge, including no article processing charge (APC).
► Participation in the contest does not affect the peer-review process; rejected manuscripts are eliminated from the contest. MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION PROCEDURE Manuscripts are accepted only in electronic format via the online form on the “Epilepsy and Paroxysmal Conditions” journal website3.
ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
Manuscripts will be evaluated by a competition committee from among the members of the Editorial Board according to the following criteria:
- originality of the text;
- methodology;
- provision of increment of scientific knowledge (theoretical and practical significance);
- reasonableness of conclusions;
- completeness of used scientific sources;
- formatting of the work.
TIMING AND ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE RESULTS
Manuscripts submission is held from 01.05.2024 to 28.02.2025. The results of the contest will be announced in the first issue of the Journal for 2025 (to be published 31 March 2025).
WINNERS AWARDING
In each nomination ("Original Articles" and "Review Articles"), according to the results of the contest, I, II or III prize will be rewarded, and the participants will receive the corresponding Winner's Diplomas. Other participants, whose articles are not eliminated, will receive a Laureate's Diploma. All reviewed and selected papers will be published in the “Epilepsy and Paroxysmal Conditions” journal.
I prize • Winner's Diploma to each of the co-authors • Publication in No. 2 (2025), if the article has not yet been published • Cash prize: 150,000 RUR* |
II prize • Winner's Diploma to each of the co-authors • Publication in No. 2 (2025), if the article has not yet been published • Cash prize: 50,000 RUR* |
III prize • Winner's Diploma to each of the co-authors • Publication in No. 2 (2025), if the article has not yet been published |
Laureate • Laureate's Diploma to each of the co-authors • Publication in 2025, if the article has not yet been published |
* The cash prize is fixed no matter the number of co-authors of the manuscript
and is given to the corresponding author who signed the Contract with IRBIS Publishing House.
