Abstract

Abstract: In this article the results of the study of focal observations of interchangeability of generic Konvuleksa to retard and original probe Depakine chrono on Valparin XR (production Torrent Pharmaceuticals, India) in patients with various forms of epilepsy. In focal observations was attended by 30 patients with focal forms of epilepsy: 17 men and 13 women aged 23 to 62 years with different disease duration and the presence of seizures, which differ according to the type and etiology. Based on these results it can be concluded that the transfer of patients with previous therapy Valparin XR generally accompanied by a stable level of seizure control.

Abstract: the analyze of 463 patients showed, that 121 patients with decompensate or ubcompensated epilepsy had nonepileptic ictuses. These patients had conversional ictuses, syncope, panic attacks, paroxysmal abstinantive states. Long turn epilepsy can be the reason for development nonepileptic seizures can worst clinical state of patients. Sometime appearing of nonepileptic seizures in epilepsy patients made diagnosis «epilepsy» doubtful. This fact was the reason for AED refused. When we diagnose the t ype of epileptic seizure, especially in-patients without good seizure control, we must remember about high probability of combi-nation epilepsy with nonepileptic seizures.

Abstract: the article contains results of DTI with tractography estimation on structure of brain alterations diagnostics on epilepsy patients and data of correlation with clinic-neurophysiologic parameters. Findings define some aspects of epilepsy pathogenesis. Peculiarities of morphofunctional changes of brain matter are prescribed what gives probability to estimate of epilepsy course and prognoses of medical correction outcomes.

Abstract

Abstract: the comparative analysis of bioelectric activity of a brain of patients with epilepsy before and after treatment by topiromate defined character of changes in a spectrum of EEG capacity and coherency, and also revealed communication between these indicators and degree of correction of clinical infringements. In our researches it is shown that at patients with positive clinical dynamics after topiromate application normalisation of the spatial organization of biopotentials is observed. The coherent analysis of narrow-band frequency components of oscillar activity of brain with the step of 1 Hz had revealed statistically significant changes of coherence in narrow ranges of frequencies. The direction of these changes and their pattern (inside- and/or interhemispheric communications) are connected with character of clinical changes. The analysis of dominating type of paroxysmal activity by the method of equivalent dipoles has shown that changes of character of the pathological activity, observed during therapy, is accompanied by changes of sources of its generation.

Abstract
Abstract: the close relatives play important roles in medical, social and psychological ehabilitation of patients with chronic social diseases. In modern medicine, in the biopsychosocial model of rehabilitation received much attention of psycho-social support for patients and their families, aimed at improving the quality of life and social adaptation. As practice shows, parents of children with epilepsy are actively involved at all levels of the biopsychosocial model of rehabilitation of patients with epilepsy, developed and implemented in practice in St. Petersburg V.M. Bekhterev Psychoneurological Research Institute. The aim of this study was to estimate the complex psychological structure of the quality of life of parents of children with epilepsy and the impact of clinical, psychological, and social factors of epilepsy on quality of life of children of their parents. The study showed that epilepsy in children negatively affects the quality of life, psycho-emotional state and social adaptation of their parents. Psychological and psychotherapeutic help parents enable optimizing rehabilitation process of children with epilepsy.

Abstract: bruxism disease polietiological nature manifested injury neuromuscular complex dentition, followed by serious violations. Mechanisms of parafunction masticatory muscles are not fully open. Study of factors that lead to bruxism, is a method of early detection of the disease and prevention of serious complications. The specific features of EEG data in patients with bruxism in order to identify the correlation of functional changes in brain activity and muscle dysfunction.

Abstract: current work is dedicated to analysis of features of clinical and encephalographic manifestations of focal epilepsy with secondary bilateral synchronization on EEG and onset in adolescence. The other aim was comparison these findings among patients with onset in adolescents and adult patients. We analyzed data of 66 adolescent patients and 61 adult patients with focal epilepsy with secondary bilateral synchronization on EEG. All patients were investigated with prolonged videoencephalographic monitoring and MRI of the brain. Analysis of types of epileptic seizures was made too. We revealed that etiological factor of focal epilepsy with secondary bilateral synchronization on EEG could not be found in case of onset of epilepsy in adolescence in contrast to epilepsy with onset in adult age. Secondary generalized convulsive seizures with fast generalization, bilateral myoclonic seizures and dialeptic seizures were more appropriate for focal epilepsy with secondary bilateral synchronization on EEG in case of onset of epilepsy in adolescence than for epilepsy with onset in adult age. Moreover focal epilepsy with secondary bilateral synchronization on EEG in case of onset in adolescence can form phonotypical copies of idiopathic generalized forms of epilepsy.

Abstract
Abstract: epilepsy is 3d common neurologic problem after cerebrovascular diseases and dementia in elderly patients. At the onset of epilepsy in elderly patients the most frequent etiologic factors are cerebrovascular, neurodegenerativ diseases, neurosurgical pathology. About 25 % of epilepsy cases in elderly patients are related to idiopathic epilepsy. In elderly people all type of seizures can be observed. In the international recommend ations on the treatment of elderly patients with focal seizures gabapentin, lamotrigine, carbamazepine are used. Lamotrigine is used as first line therapy of epilepsy in elderly patients in monotherapy or combined drug therapy.
